Edward Reekers – The Last Forest

Finally, the first solo album of Kayak singer Edward Reekers has been released on CD. The album is produced by Stephen W Tayler, who is known for his work with Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel. Ab Tamboer and Gerard Koerts of Earth and Fire were responsible for the string arrangements.
The style of the record is in line with Kayak and can be described as symphonic pop rock. Edward is accompanied by guitarist Johan Slager and singer/drummer Max Werner (both ex Kayak).
Producer Stephen W Tayler enhanced and remastered the tracks, which come from the original master tapes. The disc has been expanded with five bonus tracks, which come from three singles, which Edward recorded for Polydor in 1982 and 1983. This package is housed in a cool digipak. The booklet contains liner notes by Edward and various photographs and clippings provided by Edward and Stephen. In short, a nice addition to each CD collection of the prog, pop, symfo and Kayak fan.
